5 dead, 14 others in critical condition after vehicles collided at Dadwene in Ashanti Region

Five persons have been confirmed dead and fourteen others in critical condition after a gruesome accident at Dadwene in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

The accident involved five cars, a Toyota vehicle, a trailer, a commercial vehicle and other saloon vehicles.

According to reports, the Toyota vehicle was travelling at high speed and lost control causing it to veer off its lane and crashed into a trailer at Dadwene.

the ‘trotro’ with registration number AS 2889-19 was driven by 19-year-old Osei Ahenkorah and was traveling from Dunkwa to Kumasi.

Eye witnesses say about 20 persons were on board the Toyota commercial vehicle with 14 persons in critical condition.

Another vehicle involved was a trailer with registration number AS 468-S, driven by 41-year-old Kofi Mahama, heading from the Anwiankwanta highway to Obuasi.

Additionally, a Jetta salon car with registration number GT 3171-11, driven by 40-year-old Ofori Samuel Ankrah, was also part of the collision.

Four people tragically lost their lives at the site, leaving fourteen of the twenty passengers—including children—surviving severe injuries.

Not long after being admitted, one of the injured passengers passed away from his wounds at the AGA Hospital.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the morgue at the Obuasi Government Hospital so that further arrangement.
