Tuchel disappointed in offside decision during UCL defeat

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is unsatisfied with the apology of the assistant referee after a crucial decision ultimately went against them in their defeat against Real Madrid.
The gaffer was left frustrated and disappointed after his team’s controversial Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid was marred with dubious calls.
Tuchel described the decision to stop play before Bayern’s potential goal as a “betrayal,” as the assistant referee raised his flag for offside just as Matthijs de Ligt thought he had scored in stoppage time. The incident prevented the use of VAR to review the offside call.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Tuchel criticised the decision as “very, very bad” and noted that it went against the rules. Despite the apology from the assistant referee, Tuchel emphasised that it offered little consolation given the outcome of the match.
“There was a disastrous decision from the linesman and the referee. It feels like a betrayal in the end,” he said.
“The linesman says sorry but that does not help. To raise the flag in a moment like this…
“The referee sees we get the second ball and we get the shot.
“It’s hard to swallow but that’s the way it is.”
The exit means Tuchel and Bayern Munich finish the entire season without a trophy.

While they had hoped to rescue their season with success in the UEFA Champions League, the record holders have once again crushed those aspirations.
Additionally, it marks the conclusion of the German tactician’s tenure with the Bavarians, as his departure at the end of the season has now been confirmed.
With Xabi Alonso and Ralf Rangnick opting to stick with their current jobs despite interest from Bayern, the Bavarians are on the search for a manager.
Meanwhile, Hansi Flick has been heavily linked with the job while former Napoli boss Rudi Garcia remains a target.
