Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star, Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Sateklah has been crowned artiste of the year at the 25 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The BHIM Nation Boss now joins ranks of artistes who have won the topmost honors twice.

The BHIM Nation Boss was nominated in 11 categories; he walked home with 6 of them including the greatly desired ARTISTE OF THE YEAR.

After months of anticipation, the 25th TGMA went down on Saturday night in a grand style.

Arguably the biggest awards scheme in Ghana, the event was marked by the usual glitz, glam, class, and an aura of elegance.

Going into the show, industry views were sharply divided between Terminator hitmaker King Promise and Afro-dancehall superstar Stonebwoy.

But it was the Bhim Nation boss who dominated the TGMAs, bagging six awards.

Stonebwoy’s song, Manodzi, was done with Grammy winning African music icon, Angelique Kidjo, which won big for him on the night.

The project was adjudged the best international collaboration of the year and record of the year. To cap it all, Manodzi won Stonebwoy’s first songwriter of the year award at the TGMAS.

The sought-after artiste also picked up his 8th reggae dancehall artiste plaque. It was a beautiful spectacle as he dedicated the win to his contenders; Samini, Epixode, and PUOM general, Ras Kuuku.

And to the big one: Stonebwoy also beat competition from King Promise, Sarkodie, Nacee, Kuami Eugene, and Black Sheriff to win artiste of the year.

He now joins Sarkodie and legendary hiplife group, Vvip as the only artiste to have won the ARTISTE OF THE YEAR twice in the 25 years history of the awards.

Accepting the top prize Stonebwoy was grateful, humbled and proud.

Now! To other winners on the night.

King promise’s mega hit, terminator won the best Afropop song of the year and the Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year.

The hitmaker was also adjudged the best Afrobeats – Afropop Artiste of the Year.

Gospel star, Nacee won the Gospel Artiste of the Year, with his song 2023 single, Aseda emerging the Gospel Song of the Year.

Fast emerging star, King Paluta swept the Best New Artiste of the Year award with his ‘Yahitte remix, done with Kuami Eugene, winning the hiplife song of the year.

Music Legend, Abrantie Amakye Dede was given a lifetime achievement award.
