My administration has made stride in maintaining rule of law – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that his administration has made strides to maintain the rule of law.
The president explains that the rule of law is the foundation for which an equitable, free and just society is built.
The President said these when speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the Law House in Accra on Monday, June 10.
He said “The rule of law ensures that no one is above the law, that the concept of equality before the law is respected, that justice is administered fairly and impartially, and that the rights and freedoms of every citizen are protected. It is the foundation upon which we build an equitable, free and just society.
“Throughout my tenure as president, my administration has made considerable strides in strengthening the rule of law in Ghana. We have embarked on a journey of digitalisation and modernisation of our legal and judicial systems, recognising that in this digital age, the efficient administration of justice must keep pace with technological advancements.”
President Akufo-Ado further assured Ghanaians that the government would protect the peace and stability of the country at all times, especially during the election period.
He said the law enforcement agencies including the office of the Attorney-General would deal with any person who attempts to destroy the peace of Ghana on the alter of political ambition.
“I want to use this opportunity to reassure the Ghanaian people that the law enforcement agencies of the state including the office of the Attorney-General will do all within their power to ensure that law and order prevail in the country at all times, especially during this critical election year.

“We will not allow the peace, security and stability of the nation, which has made Ghana a beacon of democracy on the African continent, to be compromised on the alter of the ambition of any political party or presidential candidate, it will not happen,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo also said the completion of the “Law House” demonstrated the NPP government’s commitment to addressing the age-old office accommodation problem that has plagued the Attorney General’s office and the Ministry of Justice.
