CLOGSAG declares nationwide strike

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association has declared a nationwide strike despite its meeting with the National Labour Commission tomorrow.
CLOGSAG is demanding the implementation of its new salary structure which has delayed for over two years.
Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Isaac Bampoe Addo, said this when he addressed a news conference in Accra on July 2, 2024.
“We hereby declare a nationwide strike with effect from Wednesday 3rd July 2024, all staff of the Civil Service and Local Government Service should stay away from work until further notice.”
“Similarly, all CLOGSAG Secretariat and offices are closed, kindly take note and comply” he directed.
Already, the National Labour Commission has summoned the leadership of CLOGSAG to a meeting tomorrow to address its concern.
But the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG said, “with the Labour Commission, tomorrow morning when we wake up, we will decide.”
CLOGSAG is demanding the implementation of a new salary structure for its members which was agreed upon in 2023.
