NPP Manifesto launch: Bawumia delivers rallying call to the youth of Ghana

The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia delivered a touching call to millions of Ghanaian youth, to come together and support his quest for a transformed Ghana, for a better future for them.
In an energetic address at the launch of the NPP Manifesto in Takoradi on Sunday, which touched on his vision and policies for different sectors, Dr. Bawumia left what was obviously the most passionate part of his address towards the end, by directly addressing the youth, who he said, is among his topmost priorities.
“To the youth of our country please lend me your ears,” Dr. Bawumia alerted, before he started a sustained interaction with them on who he is, what he has done, his integrity, what he wants to do and why he requests their support to enable him “shift the paradigm” and implement “bold solutions” for their future.
“Our nation is at a crossroads. We are preparing to elect a new President in December 2024 and I believe I would serve our nation better as your next President,” Dr said.
“I am a problem-solving leader. In the last seven years, I have, with the blessings of President Akufo-Addo, led initiatives to address some of the fundamental problems with public service delivery.”
“I possess the integrity you require in your next President. I believe the Almighty has blessed me with the fortitude of character to ensure the implementation of bold solutions for your future.”
“My track record of public service, and in international development is public knowledge. My entire career from an academic, through to the Bank of Ghana, the African Development Bank, and to the current role of Vice-President, has been anchored on competence, diligence, and effective management skills that have contributed to my ability to see projects through to completion.
While making a strong case to the youth, Dr. Bawumia also spoke of his “proven capability to manage and deliver results professionally and transparently,” which he said, sets him apart from the rest in the race.
“As an experienced professional with unblemished national and international credentials, I am ready to bring that expertise to bear on national governance with a sole motivation to transform. The NPP delegates resoundingly gave me the mandate to lead the party based on my performance and delivery of major signature projects and programmes.”
“Given these and my verifiable high personal integrity, I am convinced, ladies and gentlemen, that you will hand the steer to me to usher in a new management style that will give us results—a paradigm shift in how we manage our resources, and let the benefits of nationhood reach out to every member of society.”
“With humility, I declare that I am a visionary leader who can generate new ideas to confront problems. I have the exciting ideas needed for a 21st-century nation.”
Despite touting the “remarkable works in creating jobs in the last seven years” Dr. Bawumia admitted that unemployment is still a major issue among the youth.
He, however, made a firm commitment to sustain and expand the rebounding economy to address the problem of unemployment.
“To the Gen Zees, I am your ‘plug’ to your dreams of a prosperous Ghana. I am your ‘plug’ to deliver decent-paying jobs. I shall offer you a problem-solving leadership built on my values of integrity, compassion, and sincerity,” he assured.
“To this end, I have presented for your consideration my manifesto for Election 2024. It is ‘giving’ hope. It is ‘giving’ vibes. It is ‘giving’ jobs,” he concluded.
