Lt Gen JH Smith passes on

A former Army Commander of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Lt Gen JH Smith has passed on aged 78.

Family sources say he died this morning after a short illness.

A terse statement issued by a family member, Ambassador Victor Smith, said “Funeral arrangements, according to muslim, tradition will be announced as soon as possible.”

The late Lt Gen JH Smith was also a former Minister of Defence as well as former Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States.
