Check out these steps as initial resolution when you experience vehicle overheating

Overheating in vehicles is a common occurrence associated with driving. Generally, it happens because something is wrong within the cooling system of your car and heat isn’t able to escape the engine compartment.
This could be caused by a cooling system leak, bad radiator fan, faulty water pump, low engine oil level or thermostat failure. It simply means your vehicle’s engine is running hot and that should not be taken lightly.
The IGarage, an auto repair company provides first step solution and what to do in the heat of the moment when your vehicle is overheating. These steps are not the final solution but a guide to a first hand address for your overheating vehicle.
1. Lower all door glasses to allow fresh air into the cabin of the vehicle.
2. Turn on the vehicle heater to allow the heat from the engine circulate through the dashboard to the cabin and through the opened glass doors. This will reduce the heat as quickly as possible. Do these for about 15 to 20 minutes to cool off the engine until the engine temperature returns to normalcy.
3. Do not pour water or cold coolant into the radiator immediately there is overheating. Wait for the engine temperature to return to normalcy before doing so. When you attempt to pour coolant or water immediately there is overheating, its an attempt to try to cool off the engine too quickly and this could affect your vehicle.
