Legon Stadium impresses athletes and officials ahead of 2023 African Games

Ahead of the 2023 African Games, different Athletes, coaches and organizers gathered at the University Of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon for an open Championship to test the quality of infrastructure and Team Ghana’s preparation ahead of the games.
Interestingly, athletes, journalists, organizers and many fans were delighted with what they saw and how Team Ghana was shaping up to host and compete.
The major events that were held at the facility were Athletics and High Jump. Athletes from different regions in the country went toe to toe, earnestly seeking a place in the final selection of team Ghana for the upcoming games.
The President of the Ghana Athletics Association, Bawa Fuseini, was happy with the facilities ahead of the upcoming games.
“The running surface is good. It’s only a bit windy. The next time we’ll know when to put the events so that we won’t have lots of wind to deal with. When we’re competing, we’ll know whether to start in the morning or evening.”

“First of all let me thank the government, the Local Organizing Committee, all the contractors and managers present. The tracks and beautiful and of immense quality. This is one of the most comfortable runs I have had in a long time and I know this will aid in the success of the games”.

The clock is ticking for Team Ghana to be fully ready in all departments and disciplines.
However, with the progress seen ahead of the competition in March, Ghanaians can expect a truly mouthwatering experience in March this year.
