A lot of teams will chase Ghanaian talents in the coming years – Semenyo

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo says there is a lot of talent in Africa, particularly Ghana, which he believes will have the attention of scouts from around the world in a few years time.

In an interview with SuperSport, Semenyo says a massive array of talent have emerged from Ghana and Africa.

There is so much talent, honestly I feel like it’s coming up now and the last few years obviously a lot of players come from Ghana, and different African countries.

Semenyo’s words hold water, as the Premier League over the years has seen a host of talented footballers hail from Africa.

The latest to join the Ghanaian contingent in the Premier League is Mohammed Kudus who has hit the ground running in his first season. Scoring seven and providing six in 32 appearances for West Ham since switching camps from Ajax last summer.

Despite the lack of exposure in Africa, Semenyo believes that in the upcoming years, several scouts from top teams will make their way to Africa and Ghana to scout some of these lads.

  • Arsenal fans counting on Mohammed Kudus to stun City in Premier League climax
  • Semenyo nominated for Bournemouth’s Player of the Season Award

But I feel like, it’s about getting that exposure and getting people to watch is the only thing now, so I feel like next coming years I am pretty sure there will be a lot teams going out there scouting and seeing the wonderful talent we have out there but yeah Ghana, we just love football. We live, breathe football.

Antoine Semenyo has been an influential figure for the Cherries this season, providing eight goals and two assists for the club.

And as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali approach, many Ghanaians will be hoping that Semenyo can replicate his club form with the Black Stars.
