Bawumia, UK Minister for Armed Forces discuss strengthening Ghana’s security and defence relationship with the UK

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has held bilateral discussions with the Rt. Hon James Heappey, the United Kingdom (UK) Minister for the Armed Forces at the Jubilee House.

The meeting took place on Tuesday, December 5 at the seat of government in Accra.

Dr Bawumia said the discussions focused on strengthening Ghana’s security and defense relationship with the UK, through the UK-Ghana Security Dialogue.

“We also discussed emerging threats in the West Africa sub-region, and Ghana’s strategic role in contributing to the maintenance of regional security, including maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea,” he said.
