The UEFA Europa League resumed last night, featuring enticing fixtures that showcased the participation of a few Black Stars players in the round of 32 matches.

Rennes’ recent acquisition, Alidu Seidu, marked his debut in European football with an impressive showing.

Coming off the bench in the 67th minute replacing Guela Doue against AC Milan, Seidu played a crucial role in stabilising Rennes’ defense, preventing any further goals after his introduction.

Unfortunately, AC Milan through Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s brace and Rafael Leao’s goal had already decided the outcome of the game. Despite the 3-0 defeat, Seidu’s contribution was evident for the French side.

At the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Salis Abdul Samed featured for 28 minutes for RC Lens in their hard-fought goalless draw against Freiburg. RC Lens, having missed out on progressing in the UEFA Champions League, are now focused on securing an aggregate advantage over the German side in the upcoming second leg.

In other Europa League developments, Black Stars attacker Mohammed Kudus, following a successful group stage campaign with West Ham, eagerly anticipates their next opponent in the round of 16. Similarly, Tariq Lamptey’s Brighton and Hove Albion secured automatic qualification to the round of 16 after topping Group B. Therefore, both West Ham United and Brighton and Hover Albion have skipped the round of 32.

Football enthusiasts can look forward to more thrilling moments as the competition progresses, with these talented Ghanaians showcasing their skills and determination.
