East Gonja MCE hands over site for construction of new bus terminal

The Municipal Chief Executive for East Gonja, Richard Broni, has handed over a site to Schneider Construction and Trading Limited for the construction of a transport terminal in Salaga.
The project, which comprise of paving of 6,750 square meters, fence wall with two security boots, bus packing canopy and compound lighting will cost GHC4,598,681.71 and is expected to be completed by August 2024.
The new terminal will be situated at the New Salaga Market, where 80 lockable stores, an abattoir, and a toilet facility have already been successfully implemented under the Ghana Secondary Cities Project.

Addressing the contractors at a short ceremony to hand over the site, Municipal Chief Executive for East Gonja, Richard Broni tasked them to do well to complete the project on schedule.
“This project is very dear to the people here and it’s completion will expand the transport sub sector while generating revenue to the Assembly to enhance development,“ he said.
The MCE said, “The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led government remains committed towards the infrastructure expansion of all sectors that will address major challenges and this is no exception.“
He assured that the Assembly is ready to assist them deliver on schedule.
“Funding for the project is already sitting in the Assembly’s coffers and so there is no cause for alarm,” Mr Broni revealed.
The project, when completed, will house all transport stations such as; Makango, Tamale, Bimbilla, Kafaba among others.
