Fatawu Issahaku reveals Andre Ayew as his idol

Leicester City youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has opened up about his admiration for Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, whom he considers his football idol.
Issahaku expressed his privilege to play alongside Ayew and discussed the inspiration he drew from the seasoned player.
The Ghana winger who has been in impressive form with Leicester City on loan from Sporting CP, shared his disappointment over a recent dismissal in a 3-1 derby loss to Coventry City in the Championship.
However, he took the opportunity to elaborate on why Andre Ayew holds a special place in his heart, emphasising Ayew’s passion and dedication to the game.
“When I was coming up, I looked up to André. I liked how he was playing and how much passion he had for football. He always gave his all to the team, and at that time, I just loved him. I wanted to be like him, and now I play with him for Ghana,” Issahaku revealed.
The 19-year-old forward, who initially gained recognition with Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League, earned his maiden call-up to the Black Stars in October 2021 at the age of 17. His impressive performances in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations also earned him the title of the best player in the tournament that year.

The most exciting part was when I went there; he guided me. He started to give me advice about the game and how to improve,” he shared.
