Jorginho extends Arsenal stay

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has committed his future to the Premier League club by signing a contract extension.
The 32-year-old initially joined the Gunners from Chelsea in January 2023 on an 18-month deal, and the club describes his continued presence as a “short-term” arrangement.
Throughout the current season, the Brazil-born Italy international has been a consistent presence on the field, making 35 appearances across all competitions and finding the back of the net once.
Expressing his joy at the extension, Jorginho stated, “I’m really, really happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be a part of this family.”
Having spent four-and-a-half years at Chelsea before his move to Arsenal, he emphasised the positive atmosphere under manager Mikel Arteta, describing the club as being in a “special moment.”
Arteta, in turn, lauded Jorginho’s influence within the team, highlighting his leadership qualities and unique playing style that elevates the performance of those around him on the pitch.
Looking ahead, Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures include a crucial clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on 12 May, followed by a final day showdown against Everton at home on 19 May.
