Mbappe: There is a lot of pressure ahead of Dortmund clash

Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semifinal second leg.

Despite Dortmund’s advantage from the first leg, he believes PSG can secure a spot in the final at Wembley on June 1, aiming for their first Champions League title.

Speaking at a children’s event with his “Inspired by KM” organisation, Mbappe acknowledged the pressure surrounding the crucial match but remained optimistic about PSG’s chances.

“We’re confident that we’ll come back from that score and reach the final,” he said.

“There’s a lot of pressure, which is normal because there’s a place in the Champions League final at stake, which is very important. Especially when you consider the club’s record in the competition.

“I’ve often had the same warning from the children. I’ve heard a lot of ‘You’ve got to win!’ And they’re right, we have to win.

“In any case, a day like this is good for the development of the man I am. And I’m sure I’ll arrive at the match in a good mood, ready to defend my team’s colours and help us qualify for the final.”

Coach Luis Enrique echoed Mbappe’s confidence while emphasising the importance of collective effort, urging attackers to contribute defensively as well. He expressed his belief in the team’s ability to win, echoing the French phrase “on va gagner” (we are going to win) as a testament to his positive mindset.

As PSG prepares for the decisive clash against Dortmund, the French international and his teammates are focused on delivering a strong performance and securing their place in the final.
