NDC meets the Artisan Association of Ghana

The Inter-Party and CSO Directorate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), under the leadership of Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has met with the Artisan Association of Ghana to be abreast of the concerns of the association.
The meeting, held yesterday, [Thursday, June 13], saw the association table numerous grievances they believe the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should address upon assuming power.
The Artisan Association of Ghana, boasting a membership of about 30,000 expressed several concerns and expectations to the Directorate.
They highlighted key issues they hope the NDC will prioritise, which include better support and recognition for artisans, improved working conditions, and policies that will enhance their economic contributions.

Dr. Otokunor, addressing the artisans, emphasised the NDC’s historical alignment with artisans, describing them as the party’s natural allies.
He assured that the next NDC administration would formally adopt the Artisan Association of Ghana, a move that would be supported by a Legislative Instrument (L.I).
Reiterating former President John Mahama’s policy on free apprenticeship, Dr. Otokunor underscored the NDC’s commitment to providing accessible and quality training for young artisans.

He also highlighted the need to standardize the work of artisans and integrate them into the Labour Union, ensuring their rights and interests are adequately represented.
This meeting marks a step forward in the NDC’s efforts to strengthen ties with key societal groups and address their concerns in a future administration.
