‘K.T. Hammond is showing ingratitude to Adansi-Asokwa NPP delegates’ – Binfoh Darkwa responds to petition
Meanwhile, attempts by the Minister of Trade and Industry and MP for the Adansi Asokwa constituency, Honourable KT Hammond, to have all his contenders disqualified so that he could go unopposed proved futile as the National Executive Committee rejected his petition.
In a petition to the National Executive Committee, KT Hammond claimed that his opponents, Kwabena Nkansah Asamoah, Samuel Dakwa Binfoh, and Dr. Enoch Acheampong, are not party card-bearers and have not accomplished enough in the constituency to be worthy of representing the people.
He argued that they are ineligible to contest the poll based on Articles 12(4) and (7) of the NPP’s constitution.
However, the National Executive Committee, during its meeting on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, rejected the petition, clearing the three opponents to contest in the January 27 primaries.
