Toddler mauled by dog shows signs of recovery as plastic surgery brings hope to his family

In a remarkable turn of events, a two-year-old toddler who suffered severe injuries in a vicious dog attack is showing promising signs of recovery.

The traumatic incident, which resulted in the loss of his buttocks and testicles, left the child fighting for his life at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. However, thanks to a successful plastic surgery to cover the severe wound, the toddler is now on the road to recovery, bringing hope to his family.

“I am grateful to everyone who came to my son’s aid” Eugene Addo said.

The story of this brave toddler has moved many, including the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Dakoa Newman. She visited the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, pledging to pursue legal action regarding the case and ensure that justice is served.

The Social Welfare Department has also stepped in, offering temporary accommodation for the family until the child has fully recovered.

Support has also poured in from various organizations and individuals. Wendy Boatemaa Ofori, a nurse and co-founder of the Redeeming Hands Foundation, has shown great concern for the toddler’s well-being.

She has helped raise funds for some of the child’s medical bills and provided essential items for his care, including a wound vac machine, which is crucial for his recovery.
