TUC elects new Secretary-General

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has elected Deputy Secretary General Bernard Owusu, as the substantive Secretary General after he contested unopposed in the TUC Congress that took place at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central region.
He replaces Dr Anthony Yaw Baah whose tenure ended.
For the chairmanship position, Mr Bernard Owusu was elected to fill the post. He takes over from Alex Opoku-Nyarko.
Mr. Owusu until he was elected Chairman of TUC, was the National Chairman of the General Transport Petroleum Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU).
Bernard Owusu polled 347 votes to defeat Alex Opoku-Nyarko, who was seeking to extend his tenure.
