Voter exhibition exercise to take place from August 20-27 at polling stations nationwide – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the voter’s exhibition exercise will take place from August 20 to 27 at all polling stations nationwide.

This was announced by the Deputy EC Chairman of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare during a press conference at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission on Monday, August 19.

He said the exercise is aimed at “removing mistakes from the voters register to make it credible for the 2024 general elections.”

“The prime goal of the exercise is to help voters to know their polling station and it is important that all registered voters go to their exhibition centers to check their names,” Dr. Bossman Asare said.

Voters are allowed to make the following request during the exercise; inclusion of omitted names, objection to names of unqualified voters on the register, removal of names of deceased voters, replacement of poor quality or damaged voter ID cards, correction of wrong spelling of names, correction to wrong registration voter quotes and amendment to other registration details.

The Commission also announced that eligible voters can also check their names and details in the register via a short code *711*51# which will be made available during and beyond the exhibition exercise.

The exercise is necessary to effect changes and errors of voters ahead of the December 2024 elections
